Nothing on my mind, 11 May 2009

Another photo post, since I really don’t feel like thinking today. Oh sure, I had plans for a real post earlier today, but then I got lazy, and now I just don’t feel like doing any in-depth thinking. Maybe tomorrow. In the meantime, enjoy the following image.

This is a few buildings in downtown Norfolk, VA, silhouetted against a rather dramatic sky. The warehouse on the left is a former one; it is in the process of being renovated into loft spaces, and there was a great restaurant on the first floor (now closed). The shrubbery on the right is part of the landscaping at the Scope arena complex, where I was standing when I took this shot.

Photo Information:

Camera: Zeiss Ikon Contax IIa
Lens: Zeiss Opton Biogon 35mm f/2.8
Film: Kodak TMax ISO 100 35mm
Exposure: Minolta Spotmeter F

This image was not too heavily post-processed. I dodged the highlights in the clouds, as well as the windows on the warehouse building, but most of the cloud highlights were satisfactory from the sunlight filtering through them. I also dodged the sunbeams in the upper right-hand corner of the frame, while also burning (slightly) the patches of sky between the rays. Finally, I burned the patches of sky in the lower right-hand background to offset the brighter clouds.
