Nothing on my mind, 23 June 2009

That’s right. Nothing. Enjoy the photo, because that’s all you’re going to get out of me today.

Film: Kodak TMax ISO 100 (120)

This is a photo of the Naro Theater [1] on Colley Avenue in Norfolk, VA. The Naro is an “alternative” theater, showing films that receive a limited release, and typically do not appear in the larger commercial theaters. The theater has also had a long history of hosting a Rocky Horror Picture Show “event” twice each month, complete with (encouraged) costumed customers. In fact, I have only been to the theater a few times; mostly, I like it because (as you can clearly see) the marquee is still the old-style one, and they light it up at night; also, while it is less obvious at night, the theater building is a nice (if simple) Art Deco design. Apart from that, you can see that, at night, the lighting around the theater evokes an interesting mood about it, which is what I wanted to capture with this photo.
