Kodak Bantam, 12 April 2011

I’ve always liked the comparison between the curved shape of the Cloud Gate sculpture in Millennium Park and the rectilinear forms of the various buildings that surround the Park. So, here’s a photo that captures that contrast!

Photo Information:

Location: Chicago, Illinois; Millennium Park
Camera: Kodak Bantam f/6.3
Lens: Kodak Anastigmat 53mm f/6.3
Film: Kodak TMax 100 (135 respooled onto 828)

Given the plethora of tones and the contrast between them, I was a little surprised that this photo turned out as well as it did – after all, I had no means of adjusting the settings on the camera to get any more finesse out of the camera at the time. OTOH, the fixed settings were likely selected to optimize them for a wide range of situations…or I’m just overthinking it. Either way, I like how it turned out…don’t you?
